Heritage Hawker Stories: Volume II

Town Restaurant, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore
28 February to 11 May 2024
Wednesday to Saturday, 6.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m.

In the days of yore, street hawkers would set up shop along the bustling banks of the Singapore River, just a stone's throw from where The Fullerton Hotel Singapore now stands. The early '70s ushered in the era of the now-defunct Boat Quay Food Centre, lauded as a "super hawker centre" that housed popular food stalls by the Singapore River. Though demolished in the '90s, the food centre remains a cherished memory for many.

Join us to celebrate our local culinary heritage and recapture the nostalgia of yesteryear, as we present the well-loved offerings from two local guest hawkers — Good Chance Popiah and Ministry of Rojak. Enjoy their time-honoured local dishes alongside new creations by the Fullerton culinary team, inspired by the vibrant flavours of Southeast Asia.

Highlights:

- House-cured Local Barramundi with Mangosteen, Mint & Locally Grown Vanilla Bean -
- Nyonya Chilli Bamboo Lobster -
- King Crab Leg Noodles in Prawn Broth -
- Slow-cooked Pork Trotters with Toasted Sarawak Black Pepper -
- Kueh Lapis Nitrogen Ice Cream -

Live stations helmed by Good Chance Popiah and Ministry of Rojak
